EYELID SURGERY (Blepharoplasty)
Dr. TerKonda performs several different types of eyelid surgeries including:

  • Lower Eyelid Surgery
  • Upper Eyelid Surgery
  • Asian Eyes

Eyelid surgery, also known as Blepharoplasty, is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures performed today. This type of surgery is used to remove fat deposits and loose or excess skin from the eye area.  It can eliminate drooping that may form around the upper or lower eyelids. Aging, heredity and sun damage are all factors that contribute to these changes as you grow older. Younger people sometimes elect to have this procedure done to eliminate puffiness of the eyes from congenital excess fatty tissue.

The creation of a double upper eyelid, sometimes called Asian eye procedure, has been one of the most popular procedures among Asian women in both Asia and America.  Estimates are that 50-75% of all Asians are born with a single eyelid; that is, they lack the crease in the upper eyelid that is common to most other ethnicities. In Asians who are born with this crease, it often differs in shape and size from that of other ethnic groups. Adding a crease to the eyelid can make the eye appear larger and can also make it easier to apply eye makeup. Full blepharoplasty, which entails removing the excess fat and tissue surrounding both the upper and lower eye, is sometimes performed to achieve a larger, more prominent eye opening.

EAR SURGERY (Otoplasty)
Ear Pinback • Earlobe Reduction • Split Earlobe Repair • EARWELL

Otoplasty is a procedure used to reduce large or protruding ears by setting the ears back closer to the head.   The ears may also be molded or shaped by removing excess cartilage as well. Otoplasty can be performed at any age after the ears have reached their full size, usually around age 5 or 6.  Children who have very large ears have a hard time adjusting in social and school settings.  Therefore this surgery is commonly performed on children before entering kindergarten.

NOSE SURGERY (Rhinoplasty)
Rhinoplasty, surgery of the nose, is a procedure in which the nose is reshaped by removing excess cartilage or bone. Nose surgery is useful in correcting asymmetric nose shapes, removing bumps on the nose, reducing the size of a large nose or changing an undesirable shape. This is a very common cosmetic procedure.  Surgery of the nose is often used to improve function of the nose as well as the appearance.  Dr. TerKonda has a special interest in rhinoplasty.

FACE LIFT (Rhytidectomy) AND NECK LIFT
A facelift can firm and tighten the skin of the face and neck all in one step. Sun exposure, weight fluctuations and heredity can all contribute to a loss of skin elasticity. This loss of elasticity can lead to loosening and wrinkling of the facial skin.  The muscles of the neck may also weaken creating loose skin on the chin or neck.  A face and neck lift will remove extra skin or fat to help achieve a youthful jawline and neck.

FOREHEAD LIFT/BROW LIFT
A forehead lift surgically alters the muscles and tissues that cause wrinkling and/or drooping in the area above the eyes. It can help correct drooping brows and diminish creases and lines that have developed from stress or overactive muscles through the years. Deep creases or frown lines can make a person look angry, sad, old or tired. This procedure can help achieve a more lively and refreshed look.  A forehead lift is most commonly performed on people 40-60 years old.

CHEEK AUGMENTATION/IMPLANTS
Cheek implants are used to create higher or more prominent cheekbones.  Well-defined cheek bones can change the shape and dimension of the entire face. They can produce a dramatic change and provide new facial contours and dimensions.  Implants themselves are available in an assortment of sizes and shapes to suit your individual facial structure.

CHIN AUGMENTATION/IMPLANTS
Chin augmentation is an effective procedure for individuals who have either a receding chin or a very large chin line. Removing excess bone or inserting an implant to change the actual bone structure of the chin area can surgically alter this area of the face. A chin revision can produce dramatic results and bring a balanced look to face at the same time it has a very natural appearance.  Chin implants are available in various shapes and sizes. They are made out of both solid and semi-solid materials that have been used successfully for many years.

LIP AUGMENTATION/IMPLANTS
A lip augmentation will make the lips fuller and more attractive by increasing their size. Many options are available now to change the shape and volume of the lips. The upper or lower lip may be treated singly, or both upper and lower lips may be changed at the same time.
